Why This Role Exists

We're building the first $1B AI-edtech platform — and we're doing it by starting where every great college product starts: on campus, in dorms, at 2am study sessions, and inside the group chats where students actually decide what to use. Transcription, AI chat, flashcards, practice tests — we're the full study stack that helps students actually learn. But the best product in the world doesn't matter if students don't know about it.

That's where you come in.

You'll own our entire ground game — campus by campus, creator by creator, viral moment by viral moment. You're not managing from a spreadsheet. You're in the trenches: filming content, recruiting ambassadors, throwing launch parties, and figuring out how to make Eightball the app that students can't stop talking about. This is the role for someone who doesn't wait for permission — who sold sneakers in high school, threw events that actually went viral, or built something out of nothing just because they could.

Why Eightball

We just raised a $1.2M pre-seed led by GTMFund alongside an incredible group of angel investors including James Beshara (Gusto, Mercury, Clubhouse), and advisors such as Dennis Yang (ex-CEO of Udemy, co-founder of Modal) and are on track to hit $1.5M ARR in 18 months. We're competing with Quizlet, Chegg, and CourseHero — and we're building the product that makes them all obsolete.

What You'll Own

Build & Lead the Campus Ground Game

• Recruit, train, and fire up our army of campus ambassadors ("Eightballers") — the eyes, ears, and megaphones on every campus we target
• Find the clubs, frats, study groups, and student orgs that can move the needle — then get them to champion Eightball
• Own content creation and influencers
• Source and preload classes with content so students see instant value from day one
• Create a community that ambassadors actually want to be part of — with energy, swag, competition, and clout

Drive Content & Virality

• Create and capture viral moments — think "professor has meltdown" TikToks, study hacks that blow up, campus chaos captured in real-time
• Find, recruit, and manage student creators and micro-influencers who can authentically hype Eightball
• Film polished product demos and UGC-style content that shows what Eightball actually does
• Negotiate creator deals and manage influencer relationships that drive real downloads

Your North Star

Subscriptions. Everything you do ties back to this. More students using Eightball. More students paying for Eightball. That's it. We'll give you the budget, the freedom, and the backing to get creative — but you'll be measured on the only metric that matters.

• Relentlessly hardworking — you don't quit when things get hard, you find another angle
• Scrappy and entrepreneurial — you've built, sold, or created something from nothing before
• Visually creative — you have an eye for content that hits and can direct (or create) it yourself
• Socially magnetic — you know how to throw a party, work a room, and get people excited about something
• A bit of a rule-breaker — you're not afraid to try unconventional tactics or push boundaries
• DIY doer — you've hustled before (resold sneakers, ran events, built a following, started something)

Bonus Points

• Prior experience as a campus ambassador or brand rep
• Track record as a content creator (doesn't need to be huge — just real)
• Competitive fire — you want to win
• Naturally collaborative but don't need consensus to move
• Genuinely curious about how students learn and what they actually need
